In a successful partnership with Horrocks Engineers, Franson Civil Engineers assisted American Fork City in the design and implementation of this secondary water system. Design and installation were on an accelerated three-year schedule.
Our scope of work included the design and construction of the 27 acre-foot lower reservoir. The design work consisted of site selection, permit acquisition, agency coordination, reservoir feature design and placement, preparation of design drawings and specifications, preparation for bid and award, and construction review services.
Distinct features and placement of the reservoir design included the embankment, inlet and outlet pipes, an underground PRV vault, SCADA system, upstream and downstream slope protection, an automated guard gate, a spillway, concrete floor, and other related concrete structures.
Our coordination efforts with utilities companies included UDOT, Utah’s Dam Safety office, the American Fork Riding Club, Highland City, and American Fork City. Construction review services were also provided by FCE to ensure quality work.
