Fairview Lake Dam Rehabilitation

Franson Civil Engineers worked with the Cottonwood Gooseberry Irrigation Company and Utah Dam Safety to bring Fairview Lake Dam into compliance with current dam safety standards. Some of the concerns with the embankment included: high concentrated seepage in the east dam, slope stability, and condition of the CMP outlet pipe. Work performed to evaluate the dam included: site surveying, geotechnical site and laboratory studies, hydraulic analyses, hydrologic analyses, geologic analysis, and geotechnical analyses of the existing dam features.

We provided professional engineering services, including:

  • Preparing a rehabilitation design to address dam safety issues
  • Creating drawings and specifications
  • Soliciting bids from qualified contractors
  • Performing construction observation and management during rehabilitation of the dam

In the News: During construction, KSL published a story regarding the dam.
