Ritewood Pond

FCE assisted Ritewood Eggs with the design and construction of their compost facility. The project included coordination with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) on rules and regulations governing compost facilities and their ability to discharge wastewater. Design included analysis of compost site and volume of wastewater generated. The design also included embankments to impound wastewater generated from the facility. Groundwater studies were performed in order to meet the necessary requirements for a vegetation cell as well as a run-off pond. A document was prepared and submitted to the DEQ identifying the management plan for continued operation of the facility. Our firm assisted during the construction of the project to insure quality installation of designed facilities.

Also, FCE assisted Ritewood Eggs by reviewing the design of their egg wash water pond which has already been constructed. The project includes coordination with Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) on rules and regulations governing this type of facility. The review included analysis of the existing site conditions, embankment material and ground water elevation. Inlet and outlet structures were designed as well. A final report was prepared.
